Redesigning Indian Pensioners Portal

Self-Initiated Project

Overview

The Indian Pensioners Portal is in need of a redesign to improve its user experience and functionality. The new design will focus on making the portal more user-friendly, with a clear and intuitive navigation structure. The portal will also be made more accessible, with better support for mobile devices and improved accessibility features for users with disabilities.

Problem

The Indian Pensioners Portal is currently facing several design problems that are making it difficult for users to effectively access the information and services they need. Some of the issues are cluttered

UIinconsistency in text and colors, resulting in difficulty in reading and distinguishing information. Additionally, the portal does not have any special features to support users with disabilities or language issues. As a result, many pensioners are struggling to navigate the portal and access the information they need.

Solution

The solution to the design problems of the Indian Pensioners Portal is to create a redesign that addresses the issues and improves the overall user experience.

Some Problems With The Existing Site
  • An excessive amount of text causes confusion and misunderstanding (looks messy).

  • Dull and boring color palette and inconsistency within the same.

  • The font size is too small for elderly readers.

  • Lack of consistency in the design language (colored bars for the title are not of the same shape)

  • Images should not be pixelated.

  • Gutter spacing is varied.

  • Different button styles can lead to confusion about whether an element is a button.

  • Some text and photos are not aligned properly.

  • Moving text can generate anxiousness.

  • The text box overlaps, making it impossible to click and examine details of the few milestones on the pension process roadmap.

  • Regional languages are not available for usage in the regional tongue by the user.

  • No voice assistance for easy use for people with disabilities.

  • Text-to-speech reader feature for people who can't read.
